Nestled next to Okewood Church in the ARK, The Nest is a calm, caring environment run by Okewood Nursery and created especially for babies and toddlers from 1 to 2 years. Their new setting in our church grounds offers a gentle introduction to nursery life — where curiosity is encouraged, and every child is cherished.

A Home-from-Home Environment

The Nest has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm, safe, and familiar with beautiful rooms and hall providing space for discovery and play, a dedicated sleep room where children fall asleep peacefully in a cot. While cosy corners invite quiet time, stories, and comfort. Natural materials, soft lighting, and simple, open-ended resources encourage little ones to explore the world at their own pace.

Learning Through Care and Connection

At The Nest, relationships come first. Each child has a dedicated key person who builds a strong bond with them and their family, providing consistency, trust, and understanding. Their experienced team supports early communication, physical development, and independence through responsive, playful interactions — guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The Setting

Housed in the much-loved Ark, the Nest retains its sense of history and community while offering a safe, modern space for babies and toddlers. The Messy room is designed for Eating and Art exploration and the large hall is perfect for movement and exploration, while the secure grassed outdoor area lets children feel the wind, touch the earth, and enjoy the changing seasons.

Growing Together

When children turn two, they transition seamlessly to Okewood Nursery in Walliswood — the well-established sister setting, rated Good by Ofsted. This gentle move helps children continue their learning journey with familiar faces and a consistent approach.
